Studies from the Hispanic Pew Research Center show Latinos lag in financial awareness and knowledge. From establishing a good credit history to managing personal finances, hard-working Hispanics find themselves scrambling and in dire situations when their car breaks down, or a family member gets sick. Oportun, a personal loan and credit card company, hired ChavezPR to oversee their national Spanish-language media outreach. The team recently launched a campaign during Financial Awareness Month to educate Latinos about the importance of building a good credit history and has secured interviews with Telemundo and Univision stations in Houston, Dallas, and Los Angeles, along with an EFE wire service story getting picked up in newspapers across the country.
